Motorola XOOM is great! Supplements my laptop nicely. Ever since I got my Motorola XOOM from MacMall, it has replaced my iPhone as alternative email checker, Web browsing agent, and mobile multimedia player.
The Motorola XOOM gives me opportunities to stay away from my work desk and still do some light work. With it, I can send/read correspondences, check on my online accounts (both social networking and online services I use for work) and even watch movies in a big screen. It has given me wonderful company on my daily commute.
Of course, I don’t think I can give up on my laptop just yet as I still can’t find a way to use Photoshop and Dreamweaver on the Motorola XOOM. I hope it would come to that. In the meantime, I’m very satisfied that I got my Motorola XOOM and can use it for tasks that a bulky ThinkPad laptop would not inconvenience me. |

Reviewed by Lester McNulty (2011-05-01) Nice to see I can do lots of things with Motorola XOOM Android is great, to begin with. A good-looking, powerful tablet like the Motorola XOOM does it great justice. Games are in HD. Movies are vivid. Web surfing is pretty much the same experience on a laptop (except there is no touch capabilities, of course). The app ecosystem is very diverse and very helpful. With my Motorola XOOM I can do the following:
Transfer files via FTP
Download music files
Create, edit MS Office files, and, most importantly,
Play movies, even if they are not in MP4 format, from thumb drive
The last I could not do with my iPad. I have since given the iPad to the wife and she’s very happy with it. I suspect that the iPad suits her needs. But not mine. Motorola XOOM does. |

Reviewed by Lionel Hollins (2011-05-01 ) Motorola XOOM’s Honeycomb OS Rocks! Love the way Motorola XOOM was able to “tweak” Android. The environment is intuitive and it looks nice in my own opinion. Before buying this product I was thinking that iPad is the superior tablet PC, mainly because of the operating system. Mind you, though, that my opinion of Android tablet PCs may be a bit unfair because I have tried only low-specs and cheap Androids like the ZiiO from Creative and Archos, until I got a hold of the Motorola XOOM. Before buying the Motorola XOOM I have high hopes that I will finally be able to like Android. I love it, to tell you the truth. The dual core processor of Motorola XOOM and its high-speed graphics do amazing things with the Android OS. It levels the playing field between Android and iOS devices. Here finally is a tablet PC with specs close to the iPad’s (dual-core processor, 10.1” screen, etc.). The result is a very nicely done tablet that gave me an unprecedented Android tablet PC experience. |
